The Hendon Football Club Supporters Association was founded in 1933. All members of the Association, and it's committee members are volunteers, and give up much of their spare time to help support the running of the football club itself.
It's constitution and rules have been updated over the years but Point 2 has always remained the same, and reads as follows:
The object of the Association is to further the general welfare of Hendon Football Club, to promote friendliness and sociability among its supporters and to help the parent body in ever way possible without interference with its own management and committee.
The Supporters Association follows the above rule and bases its activities on the same. The key factors that the Supporters Association undertake are:
• promoting the club;
• raising awareness of the club;
• raising money for the club;
• working in behalf of the club;
• working on behalf of the supporters and assisting the club at every opportunity.
Any supporter can join as a member of the Association itself, which entitles the individual to discounted rates in the club shop and cheaper travel to away matches, but the actual committee members have to be nominated and re-elected on an Annual basis at it's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The Association currently has around 150 members, including around 50-60 Junior Dons, for younger supporters. The Lambs was formed last season so that is a magnificent effort by Dave Garner to get it up and running so quickly.
During the 2003/2004 season the Supporters Association donated £15,000 to Hendon Football Club. A magnificent achievement and one that we hope to improve on season after season. |
