Saturday 11th July - Friendly defeat at Maidenhead
Hendon lost 2-1 today in a hastily arranged friendly away to Maidenhead United. The goalscorer for the Greens was Jamie Busby who converted a spot kick. There were two further new trialists in the squad today who were Ryan Mattos, a striker who was with Potters Bar Town last season and Victor Osubu, who scored against us for AFC Hayes in the Middlesex Senior Cup Final last season and was also a trialist with us a year ago. Saturday 11th July - County Cup draws
The draws for the Middlesex Senior Cup and the London Senior Cup have both been made this week. We start our defence of the London Senior Cup with an away tie in the third round to either Dulwich Hamlet, South Kilburn or Clapton. The date for this game will be fixed once our opponents are known. Meanwhile, in the Middlesex Senior Cup, we will travel to either Hanworth Villa or Wingate & Finchley in the second round. This round is due to be played on Tuesday 8th December.
Wednesday 8th July - Greens win in first run out
Hendon ran out 1-0 winners this evening in their first run out of pre-season against a Hayes & Yeading United side that was made up predominately of trialists. There were a few new faces in the Hendon line-up including goalkeeper Sam Tanner, who finished last season with Stansted having previously been with Leyton, midfielder Sam Berry, who was with Ware and Harlow Town last season, and defender Melvin Baptiste who was with Uxbridge last term. Other trialists included defender Aaron Silcott, who used to be in our youth set-up and has also played for Harrow Borough, Tommy Higgins who includes Harrow and AFC Wimbledon among his former clubs, Ben Butler, who was with Berkhamsted Town, and Ricky Campbell. The winning goal came in the 53rd minute courtesy of Harry Hunt after he had been set up by Jamie Busby. Wednesday 8th July - Player news
Gary McCann was pleased to report this evening that everyone who was with the club last season has returned to training with just a small number of exceptions. As previously reported Sam Collins has moved on, whilst Gary revealed that we have also parted company with William Viner. Will has expressed his desire to play at a higher level, and whilst we feel that we could have helped him to continue to improve, he has decided to move on. We thank Will for his efforts last season. Also missing so far this summer is Lubomir Guentchev, who is currently in Bulgaria, but he is expected to return to training within the next couple of weeks. There are also some new faces, more details of whom can be found in the details on tonight's friendly.
Tuesday 7th July - Hillingdon Tournament details
The details for the Hillingdon Tournament on 17th and 18th July are now available. The semi-finals take place on the Friday evening, we will be playing Bracknell Town at 7.00pm. This will be followed by a short U11s game at 8.15pm, and then by Hillingdon Borough v Slough Town at 8.30pm.
On the Saturday at 12.00pm will be the 3rd/4th play-off between the two losing semi-finalists followed by the final at 1.15pm. All the main games will be be formed of two halves of 30 minutes.
Admission fees are £3.00 for adults for one day, or £5.00 for a two day pass. Admission for children is £1.00. There will be food & drink available, as well as a raffle. All proceeds from the day are being donated to Michael Sobell House, a cancer care hospice based at Mount Vernon Hospital.
Friday 3rd July - Change of venue for Hayes friendly
Due to the fact that the pitch at Yeading's old ground won't be ready in time, our friendly on Wednesday evening against Hayes & Yeading United will now be played at Rosedale College, kicking off at 7.00pm. The game will be played on a third generation synthetic pitch.

The FA draws have been released and in the FA Cup we have been drawn away to play either Marlow or Ilford in the First Qualifying Round. The game will be played on Saturday 12th September 2009. Marlow and Ilford meet in the Preliminary Round on 29th August.
In the FA Trophy, we have been drawn at home to either Lowestoft Town or Redbridge, also in the First Qualifying Round. This game will be played on Saturday 17th October. Lowestoft and Redbridge meet in the Preliminary Round a fortnight earlier.
Wednesday 1st July - FA Competition dates
Later today the draws for the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Trophy will be released. However, we already have the dates for each fround of the competitions - full details are below. We will enter both competitions in the first qualifying round.
