News - June 2009
Monday 29th June - Admission & Season Ticket prices

The club are delighted to announce that admission prices for the forthcoming season have been reduced. Admission for adults will be £8.00, and for concessions the price will be just £2.00. We believe that these prices will be the lowest in the division, with every other club that has so far announced their admission prices being either £9.00 or £10.00 for adults. As far as we are aware only 3 or 4 clubs are left to announce their prices for the new campaign.

Also this season, now that our ground situation is far more secure, and we know we are now groundsharing at Vale Farm, we are delighted to announce that we are relaunching season tickets. The price of an adult season ticket is £130.00 and the price of a season ticket for children that are under 16 at the start of the season is £20.00. Season tickets will give entry to all home Ryman League fixtures but not to cup matches.

We are not selling season tickets for other supporters eligible for the concessionary price due to the fact that their general admission price is reduced by 50% from last season, so they are already making a substantial saving.

Application forms for season tickets can be downloaded through the link below, or they will be available from Steve Rogers at the pre-season friendlies and AGM.

As well as season tickets, we are also launching two new vice-presidents packages. The first package gives you access to boardroom facilities before and after every game as well as at half-time. The price for this package is £250.00. The second package gives the same access to boardroom facilities, but also includes a season ticket to all home league games. This package is priced at £350.00. An application form for the vice-presidents packages can also be downloaded through the link below.

Any supporters who have any questions regarding admission, season tickets or vice-presidents packages should contact Steve Rogers via email on steve_rogers2506@btinternet.com

Unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control, we have had to cancel the planned friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge that was due to be played on Saturday 11th July.

Tuesday 23rd June - Programme subscriptions now available

Following requests from supporters, the Trust Board have decided to launch a programme subscription service so that supporters can guarantee that they will get a copy. There are two levels of subscription.

1 - £50 to cover all home games, collection at the club shop on the day of the match (or held over for collection at a later date if you're not around).

2 - £75 to cover all home games with the programme being posted out on the first working day following the match. (Rates for postage outside of the UK are available by contacting Steve Rogers on steve_rogers2506@btinternet.com.)

Both levels of subscription include programmes for all home games in the league and the various cup competitions. If we play less than four home games in the cups, we will refund the difference to you at the end of the season. If you would like to subscribe, please download and fill in the form below and either hand it to Steve Rogers at any of the preseason friendlies, or post it to him at the address below. Please indicate clearly whether you wish to collect programmes on matchdays or if you wish them to be posted to you.

The current under 16 and under 13 squads will cease to operate, whilst the under 15s will move up to under 16s. We will also have two girls teams, at under 13 and under 10 respectively.

The youth teams will be holding trials on Saturday 4th July at Clitterhouse Playing Fields, Claremont Road, London, NW2 1AE.

Monday 8th June - Gary announces exciting new signing

Gary McCann is delighted to announce that he has secured the signature of Wayne O'Sullivan for the forthcoming season. Wayne will be well known to Hendon supporters following his previous spell with the club before he left to play for Stevenage Borough and then Braintree Town. In his initial spell with the club Wayne made 78 appearances, scoring 22 goals. We are delighted to welcome Wayne back to the club and hope that he has an enjoyable and successful second spell with us.

Leaving the club is Sam Collins, who is expected to sign for his local side Canvey Island. Sam rejoined us last autumn from Wivenhoe Town, following his earlier loan spell from MK Dons, and scored 5 goals in his 45 appearances. We would like to thank Sam for all his efforts and wish him well for the future.

Gary is expecting the rest of the squad that finished the season with us in April to return to pre-season training at the end of this month.

Saturday 6th June - Golders Green memorabilia on eBay

There are currently two items of Golders Green FC memorabilia up for auction on eBay. The first is a cigarette trading card of the team dating from the mid-late 1930s. The second is an old membership card from the Supporters Association dating back to the 1938/39 season. Direct links for both of these items are below.

As well as these two items, there are hundreds of other items listed, including old Hendon programmes and a wide selection of second hand books. For a full list, again click the relevant link below. As always we are on the lookout for more items to list, so if there is anything you would otherwise be throwing out, please contact Steve Rogers who will be pleased to receive donations.
